Car air conditioning (AC) requires regular maintenance to ensure that it’s running efficiently as manufacturers recommend that your AC is serviced every two years, if not this can have a detrimental effect on your AC system.
As your car’s AC is not checked as part of the MOT and not usually included in a car service, it is important to make this part of your car maintenance routine.
Within our AC service we diagnose any issues and repair them. Included in our thorough AC service is an antibacterial treatment and vacuum test to ensure there are no gas leaks.
If you notice unpleasant odours when you switch on your air con, your vehicle may require an antibacterial clean. Over time bacteria and mould can build up in your air con system, resulting in unpleasant odours. Breathing in bacteria when air is blown can cause illness, sore throats and play havoc on your allergies.
If you find your AC system is blowing out warm air, working intermittently, a recharge (regas) will bring back the cold air as well as help improve fuel economy. The process involves removing the refrigerant from AC system and replacing it with a new refrigerant, this will bring back the cooler air.
We use industry-approved R1234YF and R134A refrigerant gas.
